G13 for Toyota 2010-2019 4 Runner with JBL and NAV
Okay - so this is my second Dasaita unit in 3 weeks and the same problems persist. Sound quality is horrible--- very high frequency with a light static present at low levels. Addtionally volume is aproxiamtely 70% to front speakers and 30% to rear speakers -- with no way to adjust. EQ and fader have zero affect.
In fact, in the EQ, I when the two front speakers are muted, there is ZERO sound from rear speakers, sub or center. To reiterate, with front speakers un-muted, I get about 30% volume to rears. BUT - zero EQ or balance ability.
See pics below, I have ( I beleive) conduted the proper software upgrade- nothing changed.
Addtional problem: when placing the vehicle in reverse, the music volume stops and the speakers emit static.
Regarding my question about the MCU update - why I ask is that I copied what you sent to a blank FAT32 formatted disk and attempted upload. System says it could not find MCU update.
So, do I need to copy MCU file to my USB containing entire system file and update again ???
No matter what I try, I can not get the MCU to update. The system updates with out a problem - but it will not recognize MCU. Iloaded the MCU file back onto USB with system update and the system update ran again -no problem.
I have tried to force MCU through recovery menu as well - no luck.
I have attached a screen shot of the MCU file loaded on FAT32 formatted usb. Am i doing something wrong with this file???
Tried some more simple approach to get the rear speakers working. I removed all the amplifier and subwoofer from system. Straight from Dasaita unit to factory (no-JBL) car harness and still could not get rear speakers to function.
I believe I should have all the MCU/firmware upgrades.
Tips: 1. Download above update file via your computer/laptop. 2. Format USB drive to FAT32 Format. 3. Copy the file “hmcu.img” to the root directory of USB drive. 4. Insert USB drive into the unit via USB cable; then it will pop up automatically a window of update. Alternatively, please manually go "Settings > System > MCU updates" to start the update. ***NOTE: Please make sure that you have ticked option "Wipe data and format flash!". ------------------------------------
I'm having the same issue. I have a 2016 4Runner limited with the factory JBL system. I have installed the wiring harness that you recommended and I have updated the software. Still have poor sound quality and no sound at all from the rear.
