Common Questions Before You Buy

Does it work with the factory JBL system?

Yes. The HA2227 supports both factory JBL and non-JBL audio systems, and the package includes the wiring needed for both configurations. Simply use the wiring that matches your Tacoma's factory audio system during installation.

Does it fit my 2005–2015 Toyota Tacoma?

Yes. The HA2227 is designed for U.S.-market 2nd Gen Toyota Tacoma models from 2005–2015 and supports both factory JBL and non-JBL audio systems. Wiring for both configurations is included.

Will my factory backup camera still work?

It depends on your Tacoma's original camera configuration. If the factory camera originally displays through the factory radio, it can be retained on compatible configurations. If the camera originally displays in the rear-view mirror, the factory mirror display remains separate and does not automatically move to the Dasaita screen. You can also connect a compatible aftermarket backup camera to the head unit.

Will my steering wheel controls still work?

Yes. Supported factory steering wheel controls can be retained through the included vehicle-specific CANBUS interface.

Is this really plug and play?

Yes. HA2227 includes a Tacoma-specific wiring harness and CANBUS, with no wire cutting or splicing required for supported configurations.

Really impressed!

I installed this in a 2013 Tacoma. It was very easy and everything you need is included. It looks amazing and add a lot of functionality.

Great head unit

Overall great product. This style goes with the truck interior the best and it doesn’t look like an after market radio.

4 stars due to the 3 back upper clips not clipping into truck dash. There is a tiny gap at the top of the unit as a result. The trucks USB also does not work now since there is no plug in for the unit.

Everything else is top tier!

2012 Toyota Tacoma Trd sport. The original radio in it was a 2011 manufactured stock.

Still learning

Gripe: It does not have HD digital radio stations that are common here, but I knew that when I bought it.
Self installed in a 2008 Toyota Tacoma. I had minor complication as I didn't have the original brackets or clips due to a previous custom radio install. I had to buy original brackets from Ebay. I used a Dremel to modify the Dasaita frame to work with the aftermarket clips I had from the old radio. The provided picture for the mounting of the brackets was incorrect for my truck, but I figured it out ok.
It booted up just fine. Sounds really good. I have steering wheel controls back that I lost when I upgraded to my old radio. It took a bit to figure out how to get the time set away from China time.
Its a sharp looking display, but doesn't match my old dusty dash at all. I must clean my truck.
I have a lot to learn about it.

Great Head Unit

It has every bell and whistle you could possibly want. I got it mostly for the big screen, but it connects to my phone quickly. It can also function as a separate phone. Installation was fairly easy with help from YouTube. Need to install backup camera. It's way more than I actually need, but it's great!
