USB Music Playback Issues

  • I connacted a 500g usb drive with about 350g of files.

    Music playback with shuffle play on "all files" works great except  I get no album art or progress bar.  A 32g drive has no issues other than there are 2 second dropouts as it seems the player is searching ahead.

    What is the maximum size for this head unit?

  • @T Rieger

    Explanation: "2-second dropouts" may be caused by the device re-indexing or re-buffering when switching files.
    High-quality audio file encoding (such as lossless formats like FLAC and WAV) resulting in high transient load.Could you please confirm the formats of the file?

    Explanation:When reading from a large-capacity USB drive, playback devices may not be able to load ID3 tag information (including album art, song titles, progress bars, etc.), especially when the drive contains a large number of files.
    Solution:

    1) Format the USB drive to FAT32;
    2) Try storing music files in folders (for example, by artist/album) to reduce the number of files in a single folder.

  • @Support Dasaita Thanks for your reply.

    The drive was formatted as ntfs.  I reformatted it to fat32.

    Playback no longer has dropouts.

    The bad news is I still have no album art or progress bar, irrespective if it's a flac or mp3 file.

    The drive is set up with a main folder for music.  Every album is set up in subfolders based on artist.

    Very puzzled what to do.

  • @T Rieger Could you please take a video of showing this issue?
