I find that every time I update the Scout software, it upsets my Zlink Carplay wireless configuration and I have to 'fix' it. This is extrememly annoying.
I figured out this method of getting it back up and running, though, so I thought I'd share it. To be clear, this is for a situation where you can get Carply to work via a wired USB connection but when you try to do it wirelessly in Zlink, the green icon never comes up and it never initiates Carplay.
1. Forget Zlink under Carplay in your phone under General Settings; also forget the bluetooth network for the head unit under your phone's bluetooth settings.
2. Clear/forget your phone from the bluetooth screen on the head unit.
3. Reset network settings on the head unit.
4. This is critical: Ensure that the wifi hotspot network that the headunit is broadcasting has WPA security enabled (as opposed to NO security). This is critical. I think this is essential because if there's no security, your phone wants to connect to the WiFi immediately, which prevents Carplay from connecting (Carplay uses bluetooth and wifi in conjunction). I don't know exactly why this works, other than changing this made everything work when it did not before.
5. Start the normal process of connecting wirelessly to Carplay: A. Launch Zlink; B. connect phone to headunit's bluetooth; C. This should then get the green icon going and Carplay will initiate.
