Firmware Update QCM6125 Vivid 13

  • Hey guys, I'm having trouble with my bluetooth dropping out (daily) on calls when I'm driving or navigating. Works fine for about 5 minutes and then just drops off. I have also noticed as others have that the screen brightness is pretty bright at night - note: adjustmenting brightness doesn't do anything and neither does the night time adjustment. Screen is bascially always the same intensity. Radio sound isn't great either...everything is hooked up properly.

Unit overall is decent but these issues are defintely annoying for the price of the product.

I've read that firmware and MCU updates are my best bet - what firmware updates should I be using since they are unit specific?

    Appreciate your help,

    Thanks

  • Hello @CareP ,

Based on the screenshot, we found that your firmware is G13 not Vivid13.

For the issue of bluetooth, could you kindly go to Apps&Notification to clear the cache of bluetooth and delete the connection history on your phone and the head unit then reconnect again.

While you mean that the brightness has no change when you adjust it, we are wondering if you set the mode to auto switch from dark and bright, will it work or not.

    Here is the instruction:

Go to Car > Factory Settings > Enter 126 > Other > Panel LED control > By head light. Then apply and exit.
1)When headlights are on, it will automatically switch to nighttime mode.
2)When headlights are off, it will automatically switch to daytime mode.

As to the radio signal, please let us know if go to Settings > Car > Factory Settings (126) > confirm the radio receipt region is set correctly or not. You could send us video to demonstrate the situation if possible.

  • Thanks for the response.

So, I cleared the bluetooth cache and storage and will see if that makes a difference or if the calls still disconnect from bluetooth when driving or navigating. As well, I checked the factory settings for the brightness of the screen and it was already set to the setting you have suggested. When tested it's a very small difference in brightness. If we say daytime brightness is 100% and then once the headlights are turned on the dim looks to be about...90%, meaning it almost does nothing. Very very small difference in nighttime mode which leaves the brighness level pretty bright when driving at night. Is this the way it's supposed to be?

As well, the radio settings are also all correct - the radio works BUT the sound quality is pretty bad.

Should I be doing a firmware/MCU upgrade - will that fix these issues? If so, what are the links.

    Thanks
