G13 QCM6125 - Black screen, no firmware update prompt after CANbus setting change

  • Hello,

I have a Dasaita G13 unit (Android 13, QCM6125 chipset) installed in a 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. The issue started after I changed the CANbus setting to "19 Toyota" — after rebooting, the screen went completely dark and has stayed that way since.

I contacted Dasaita support and they sent me the latest firmware (G13_V1 20260409) and MCU (4.17f) files to try via USB update. I followed the process carefully but have not been able to get the unit to respond:

    1. Formatted a USB drive as FAT32
    2. Copied both update.zip and hmcu.img to the root of the USB drive (unrenamed, unzipped)
    3. Inserted the USB into the USB1 port on the unit
    4. Tried pressing and holding the RST pinhole button for 10-30 seconds — no response
    5. Tried the RST button while the unit was powered via ACC — no response
    6. Tried connecting via ADB from a MacBook Air — the ADB daemon started but the unit was not detected
    7. Pulled the unit out of the dash and confirmed the USB1 connection directly

The blue touch buttons on the left side of the unit are lit, so there is power, but the screen stays completely black with no firmware update prompt appearing.

    Does anyone know:

    1. A recovery method for a unit where the screen is dark and can't display the firmware update prompt (e.g. EDL mode or another blind-flash method)?
    2. Whether there's a special recovery firmware or alternate flashing approach for this situation?

    Device details:

    • Model: Dasaita G13
    • Chipset: QCM6125
    • Android version: 13
    • Kernel version: 4.14.190 #94 (Tue Oct 22 09:20:15 CST 2024)
    • Vehicle: 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid

Any guidance from Support Dasaita or others who've dealt with a similar issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Ramesh
