I have a "G13" unit I installed in a 2017 Honda HR-V (Vezel) in January 2025. The unit had operated correctly for many months. But then, one day, while driving, I used the turn signal and the unit shut off. Black screen, no sound. The unit would not turn back on.
I tried resetting the unit with the small reset button. The unit did not turn on.
I checked the car's audio fuse, and it was fine. I re-opened the car's dash trim and removed the G13 unit to check the rear fuse on the G13. That fuse was fine. I then unplugged everything from the unit, plugged it all back in, and re-installed the unit. The head unit then turned on, and was working as normal.
The head unit worked as normal for approximately four weeks. Today, I started the car and the unit came on. When I shifted into reverse, the head unit shut off. It will not turn back on.
It seems that my unit has a flaw, perhaps related to when switching to the camera display, triggered by the right turn signal or the reverse camera. I have driven the car a lot, used the turn signal camera and reverse camera many times, but the unit has suddenly shut off twice now, displaying a black screen and will not turn on.
I removed the car stereo fuse, waited 3 minutes, put the fuse back in, and started the car. The unit powers on as usual, but has the wrong date and time.
Should I exchange the unit for a new one? I purchased it from Dasaita through the Amazon store on January 17, 2025. Amazon order #111-2296832-9197823.
