External Mic Not Working - Honda Civic 7th Gen - HM5599

  Hi support,

  I have a HM5599 unit in a 7th gen Honda civic. Internal mic works, but I sound very distant when on calls. So, I've tried installing the provided external microphone, but there is no change in microphone volume or quality. 

  When I tried enabling the external mic in factory settings, both microphones stop working (ie. when I try to use Siri or make phone calls, nothing is heard from the mic)

  Is there an updated firmware I should try? Any settings you recommend?

  @George Burdell It seems that your external microphone is defective. We are wondering if you have other 35.mm microphone to plug in or you could send us your order number so that we could check the warranty and see if we could send another one to you.
