IMAGE Update (Android 10 to Android 11)

  • I'd add that running a help command for rkflashtool from command line gives me this feedback but I'd appreciate some help interpreting how to make use of the associated detail:

  • @No4 Mk2 Can you tell us what head unit do you have, is it a Dasaita Max 10 or Max 6 running Android 10? Do you want to upgrade to Android 11 from Android 10?

The zip file you are using appears to be the one for the new motherboards (HCT8) and that is an OTA zip file, not a full image file to upgrade from Android 10 to Android 11.

More information is needed from you about your device specifications and what is what you are trying to achieve.👍

  • @Al Ferro thanks for asking.

Can you tell us what head unit do you have, is it a Dasaita Max 10 or Max 6 running Android 10?

The unit in question is a Dasaita MAX10 Universal Double DIN Car Stereo 7 Inch Carplay Android Auto PX6 4G+64G Android10 1024*600 DSP AHD Radio (Dasaita SKU: HA2153-MAX10-CP).

Max10 wasn't playing nicely with Bluetooth, so I flashed the most recent (at the time) Vivid10 image via USB no problem. Yesterday, the OS advised of an OTA update so I gave that a go ahead.

Refer screenshots of the "as installed" About detail from the unit for info:

Do you want to upgrade to Android 11 from Android 10?

Yes - that was my thinking. The unit hasn't been installed and I'm running it from a bench power supply for function testing. I was thinking that upgrade to Android 11 would make sense given where it is. Easier than doing it in-vehicle.

The zip file you are using appears to be the one for the new motherboards (HCT8) and that is an OTA zip file, not a full image file to upgrade from Android 10 to Android 11.

Fair point but the file detail referred to is the same (AFAIK) for the Vivid11 .zip file, so it was purely for illustrative purposes. Apologies for any confusion. I was trying to show the extent of the investigation that I've made and that I'm not completely clueless.

Also, I can see from the Post #1 that (for example) there is this advice:

    Link for Vivid11 PX6 android 11 IMAGE file telenav_vivid_rk3399_11.02820220413

    please ask seller

So, I sourced the unit via Amazon but I don't understand why a usable image is not directly available from the original equipment manufacturer. As I explained above, I flashed Vivid10 from Max10 using the firmware image published on this site at:

    https://www.dasaita.com/community/forum/topic/36770/firmwares

I think that covers it. Hopefully, I've been sufficiently clear. Thanks.. 😉

  • hello I faced a similar problem

I thought I bought max 10 So I downloaded the latest max 10 Firmware  but the device does not boot anymore. I'm stuck with logo bootloop

To make things worst I cannot enter recovery  mode

i tried everything but no success

I when I checked the box I discovered they sent max11

    can anyone help

  • @Gaby Rouss https://www.dasaita.com/community/forum/topic/62009/important-how-to-enter-into-recovery-menu. Did you try to correctly get into recovery mode?

  • @Al Ferro yes I tried 👎 after 8 seconds it flashes 3 times, I kept pressing for 30 seconds nothing happened, and to make things worst the unit freezed, I had to unplug it

  • Hi,

Can I request to upgrade from Max10 to max 11?

  • Am I able to get Link for Vivid11 PX6 android 11 IMAGE file telenav_vivid_rk3399_11.02820220413 link?

  • @Tony Ye  Hey Tony, i finaly fix it - now its running MAX11 Android 11.

Only thing that does not work is the GPS.
    Any tips what to do?
    Antena is OK.

    Thanks!

  • @Zeek World could you please give me a step by step on what you did? I'm screwed with the exact same issue you had and I have no idea how to fix it because I can't find anything online about it. I can't get into recovery mode no matter how hard I try and I tried to do vivid10 and realized I was running max11 way after the fact so I'm just in an infinite boot loop

  • @Chriss PC Fix Great to know. Congrats! Is there any GPS issue under Android 10? My one works fine.

  • Hi, I tried to upgrade to android 11 following the video and the flashing process failed with IDB download failed and now stuck in flashing mode (black screen) with touch button lights on. I cannot get out of this no matter if I hold reset buttons for how long. and PC cannot recognize device via USB (device descriptor failure).

i swtiched to different PC and different USB port, and same.

now I stuck in this flashing screen and pc not able detect the device to flash, what should I do now?

i am so stuck now, and i don't install the head unit myself, i cannot unplug the unit easily.

main problem is I cannot get the head unit detected by windows. I just want to go back to working state, max10 or max11

@Chriss PC Fix how do you get the pc detect the head unit again?

  • Is there anywhere showing the steps to follow to upgrade 10 to 11?
