Ver 11 4Runner unit lagging many seconds after action

  • Backup camera sometimes freezes (dangerous), screen lags 5-6 seconds after touching something or turning volume knob. Sometimes it's better after re-starting the truck others it comes back. Reset and still lags sometimes. Voice TXT/recognition via factory mic is really bad also.

  • @Support Dasaita I have a FAT32 USB and placed the update folder in the root of the drive but the system will not see the update. It opens the drive like it is looking for music and adds lots of folders to it if I plug it into the white USB cable. Am I using the right USB cable on the unit? If I connect to one of the two black ones nothing happens at all. Should the files be left in the update folder or all copied out onto the root of the USB drive? If select System Update in the device settings nothing happens at all, no error or message appears.

    .

  • @Travis Zetterower We are assuming that you may have unzipped the file. Please note that you just need to copy the undate.zip file(just 1 file) into the USB stick.

  • @Support Dasaita I was able to complete the update. After update the Toyota logo at startup is now Android and I lost wireless carplay access. The ZLink seems to be diff version. Before I used WiFi to connect to the unit but the screen now says to use USB or Bluetooth but only USB works for CarPlay. There are no WiFi connections visible on my phone for this now. I connected via Bluetooth but that doesn't activate Carplay. USB connection also cuts out intermittantly.

  • @Travis Zetterower We are wondering if you would like to try an update of the zlink which may improve the situation.

Here is the latest zlink software.

  • @Support Dasaita I installed the Zlink update successfully. The wireless CarPlay is still not available. My phone will not show any WiFi connection to the unit like it used to in order to connect. Only bluetooth to Car Kit. The unit itself can connect to other WiFi sources so I know the WiFi works, it's just not sending out the hot spot information so I can connect to it like it used to.

  • @Travis Zetterower We are wondering if you could shot a video of how you connect the bluetooth of the head unit to activate wireless carplay. We will judge if the procudure is correct or not and give you more appropriate instruction.

  • @Support Dasaita

  • @Travis Zetterower Could you kindly try disabling the Zlink in the Factory settings > Apps and then reboot the unit and enable the Zlink again?

  • @Support Dasaita CarPlay is working wirelessly after reset. Somehow I have also managed to make the touch screen reversed. Now when I swipe right it goes left and if I want to tap an icon on the left I have to tap the sceen on the right side. Video attached.

  • @Travis Zetterower Here is an instruction to calibrate the touch screen.

  • @Support Dasaita All of my issues are now resolved. Everything is working properly now. Thank you.
