G13 in Tundra sound is weak

  • I just installed my G13 in my Toyota Tundra and have sound issues. The sound is very low coming out of my front door speakers. The front right door is lower than the front left door. I can hardly hear anything from the front right door speaker. I have stock toyota non-jbl speakers. There is no sound coming from the center dash speaker at all.

    I have a G13 model QCM6125

  • @Support Dasaita Before you had answered I updated the firmware to QCM6125 13 S10A_123 eng.hct.20250421.110529 NA This update did not resolve my problem.

I tried to update with the firmware you suggested but it gives me errors and does not update. I redownloaded the firmware and tried a second time but it also fails. The MCU updated fine but not the firmware

  • @Support Dasaita When I try the new update it shows me this screen.

  • @Dennis Tribble

    Hello,

Please shot click to choose "apply update from USB or SD ",then long press to confirm it.

May we know have you connected this RCA cable? If yes, please notice to disconnect it.

  • @Support Dasaita I am still unable to apply the new firmware update. I clicked to apply update from usb but it still fails. I will include a picture of the error message.

I noticed that one of the tweeters in my dash is not working at all after I installed the oem head unit back in my truck. I have unhooked all of the dash tweeters and put the g13 back in. Now the door speakers do sound better but I have no tweeters. I have ordered new speakers for the doors and also new tweeters. Hopefully once I install them everything will sound ok.

I did have the cable hooked up that you asked about and have now disconnected it. Can you tell me what that cable is for? I didn't notice any change once I removed it.

  • Can you tell me how to fix my buttons on my steering wheel? First, the up and down buttons are backwards. They do advance to the next song and reverse to the previous song but they are opposite compared with how Toyota had them set up. Can I change these so the up button  advances to the next song and the down button goes backwards to the previous song?

Also when I press the button to the right it should skip through the song but instead it goes to the next song. Same when I press the button to the left. It should skip backwards in the song that's playing but instead it changes the song.

  • @Dennis Tribble

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

For the swap buttons, please go Settings>Car>Factory settings:126>Canbus>Swap-Key>Normal or Swap for your car.

  • @Dennis Tribble

    Hello,

It is a high to low audio output cable for the factory amp.

If the car doesn't come with factory amp, please don't connect . It will casue the low sound or no sound for speakers

  • @Support Dasaita The canbus swap key worked to fix the up and down buttons. Is there a way to fix the left and right buttons? They are supposed to move forward and backwards in the song that's playing however they change the song to a new track.  Can this be fixed?

  • @Dennis Tribble

    Hello,

Thank you for your kind reply.

Please make sure that you 've connected the correct CANBUS.

If your OEM unit is the same as this one , please use the CB047-1+RP2-TY-001 CANBUS

If your OEM unit is the same as this one , please use the CB004+RP5-TY-001 CANBUS

For the Steering Wheel control, please try to reprogramme :

Step 1. Please go Settings > Car > Factory settings (password:126) > Others > Steering wheel keys assign > Can Key > Apply > Exit (Restart).

Step 2. Please go Settings > Car > Steering Wheel Keys > start to program OR just open the App "Wheelkey Study" to program. We also attached a video showing how to reprogram the SWC keys for your reference, please check it out.

Here is the studying video of steering wheel controlhttps://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/q7ue7qnm6uhq25sgz39gt/Video-Steering-wheel-keys-assign-Can-Key.mp4?rlkey=8xptcydovh8fypb7m17rl474m&st=f1sq5s0p&dl=0

  • @Support Dasaita I have the correct canbus installed. I have tried to reprogram the steering wheel keys however the left and right keys still don't work. I am able to program the other keys just fine.  Also when I click the center button and the reverse arrow button it closes the wheel keys study. If I long press either button then my backup camera is displayed on the screen.
I also have noticed that my a/c information is not displayed on the head unit.
    thanks for your help

  • @Dennis Tribble

Thank you for sharing details with us.

It seems the CANBUS issue. Please go Settings > Car > Factory settings (password:126) > Others > Steering wheel keys assign >Disable  > Apply .

Could you also send a picture of your OEM unit and special year for your car so we could forward to our technical support ?

  • @Support Dasaita I tried your suggestion but that didn't work. I have a 2015 Toyota Tundra SR5 with the 5.7 liter v8. Below is a photo of my OEM unit as you've requested.

  • @Dennis Tribble

    Hello,

Could you double check the CANBUS is RP5 -TY-001 ? The correct CANBUS is this one .

Please also send some clear pictures of your OEM plugs to show the trigger wire like this.

If you comfirm you've connected the CB004 with RP5 -TY-001 CANBUS but not luck,please send a video of showing how do you reprogramme the steering wheel control .

Step 1. Please go Settings > Car > Factory settings (password:126) > Others > Steering wheel keys assign > Can Key > Apply > Exit (Restart).

Step 2. Please go Settings > Car > Steering Wheel Keys > start to program OR just open the App "Wheelkey Study" to program.

Here is the related issue for reference ,please check see if this issue for your car  is also like this?

  • @Support Dasaita This has resolved the issue with the steering wheel keys. I had the wrong canbus installed. Originally I had the correct canbus installed but changed it. Now it is correct and working properly.  Thank you

How do I make the a/c information display on the screen?

  • I'm sorry but I replied to quickly.

I am now able to program those buttons. Even though they are programmed they still don't skip within the songs that is playing on apple carplay.  If I program them to something other than skip (>>) the buttons work fine. If I change back to >> or << then nothing happens.

  • @Dennis Tribble

    Hello,

Do you mean the forward and back buttons reverse?

If yes, please go  Settings>Car>Factory settings:126>Canbus>Swap-Key>Normal or Swap.( If the settings is Swap ,please change to Normal; If the setting is Normal ,please change to Swap )

How to make the a/c information display on the screen ?

    Please go  Settings>Car>Factory settings:126>Canbus>Air condition>Normal

  • @Support Dasaita No. I mean I have the right arrow button programmed to skip forward in the current song that is playing and the left arrow button to skip backwards in the current song that is playing. When I press the right arrow button it should skip forward in the song 5 seconds or 10 seconds etc. but it doesn't. Same when press the left arrow button it should skip backwards 5 or 10 seconds but doesn't. Nothing happens. I can program those keys for other functions if we can't resolve it.

For the a/c it is set as normal as you've stated above but I haven't seen anything displayed on the screen for the a/c. Is it supposed to display on the screen automatically whenever I turn on the a/c?

    Thank you for your help.
