Lower Volume on Subwoofer

  • 2016 Toyota Tundra just installed a new G13 headunit. Prior to this installation, I have an aftermarket amp connected to original toyota radio and to all of the factory speakers and subwoofer. When I installed the new Dasaita G13, the output of the subwoofer is much lower. I checked the gain on the amplifier and it is correct. I checked the subwoofer level in the radio and it is at 10. I did not use the subwoofer rca output from the radio. I used a Y RCA cables to connect the subwoofer off of the front left and right RCA output from the radio. What would cause the subwoofer output to drop?

  • @Barry

    Hello.

When you split only front LR RCAs with a Y cable for your sub amp, almost all the low sub frequencies get filtered out before reaching your subwoofer amp—this directly creates drastically quieter sub output, even with maxed sub level (10) and correct amp gain.

If possible, please try to use subwoofer rca output from the radio to see how it goes.

  • Yep will do and will report back.

    Thank you!
