how to skip on spotify with the steering wheel control

  • Hey,
I got the head unit for the 2012 honda accord.  I am using carplay with iphone 11 pro.  My steering wheel is able to control volume, but it does not skip songs running spotify.  I can't skip using the oem control either, so I was just wondering if that is an issue or just by design.  it skips fine if i reach out for the screen, of course, but it would be more convenient to use steering wheel control.
    thanks,

  • @Tommy Ta Please let us the SKU of your headunit, as some headunit is compatible with cable without canbus which mean your have to make steer wheel study. Here is the SWC instruction video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7hovrnq4uingkoj/%E6%96%B9%E6%8E%A7%E5%AD%A6%E4%B9%A0.mp4?dl=0

  • @Support Dasaita Hey thank you for your response, the only number I found was: X003CPEP9X on the box.  it was a Scout series if that helps.  The menu is very limited.  is SWC an option for this series, if so can you show me how to get to that menu to teach the steering wheel.

  • @Tommy Ta i dont know if this helps. I noticed on the last Scout updates (3.3.5 onwards) that the steering wheel buttons works sometimes....but most of times have erratic behavior:

    * Up and Down volume only increases volume

    * Skip does not work properly

    * During Android Auto, when skipping works...spotify looses audio focus over the radio.

  • actually, i think the issue is that the unit is not getting any input from the steering wheel.  my steering wheel control is currently controlling the OEM stereo, that's why the volume was able to be controlled with the steering wheel.  how do i connect steering wheel to the head unit?

I've been doing some research, and someone mentioned that I can utilize the one extra cable from the Dasaita unit that labeled "key" and it simply not connected to anything.  I was told that if i connect that with the right cable, I should get the control.  Can you verify this? @Support Dasaita
    thanks

  • @Tommy Ta As you have not told us your stereo order number, please try the following instruction accordingly.

    For stereo with canbus.

Please go to: Settings > Car > Factory settings (password:126) > Others > Steering wheel keys assign > Can Key (see attachment pic) > Apply > Exit (Restart).
Then go to: Settings > Car > Steering Wheel Keys > start to program OR just open the App "Wheelkey Study" to program. Your can refer the above instruction meanwhile. Step1

    For stereo without canbus.

Here is a video to show you the wiring and steer wheel settings.
