I got the external mic to work a lot better by turning up the Mic volume to +12.

I'm having a similiar issue, except when i place a call the person i call can't hear anything. I can unplug the external and i have to be sitting still in the vehicle with the windows up. My previous unit (vivid 11) had a setting to turn the external on or off but the vivid 13 does not have that option in the settings

Please go to Settings > About Machine and send us the current build Number and MCU version so that we could better help.

Also have issue with not reading SIM card. Have tried factory reset and hctreboot. Mint mobile says the card is active but unit shows locked carrier on their end. Not sure if both issues could be related
