PX6 - C-HR 2018 - Steering wheel keys not working

  • As mentioned in this thread I updated the unit using provided firmware.

Android Auto wireless works fine now BUT volume up/down and next/prev steering wheel keys stopped.

Phone up/down, voice activation, music mode/mute work fine.

In the hidden menu I set SWK as "Canbus" (it was already like that, since when I installed the unit 2years ago).

If I use SWK setup page, when I press phone up/down, microphone or mode I see on the screen that the related command be one highlighted and I can change it.

When I press volume or next/prev nothing happens, nothing get highlighted on the screen.

If I press reset all commands on the screen get deleted but again , pressing volume SWK doesn't show up anything on the screen. I will attach pictures below.

Before the update SWK were working fine.

  • @Mcgyver83

    Please go:

Settings > car > factory setting (Password: 126)  > CANBUS.

If it is 8,  choose "NO" to apply, after the reboot, re-choose the option 8 to see how it work.

And please go to Settings>About machine and provide the following version information:

1.A clear photo of the stereo's Built Number.
2.A clear photo of the stereo's MCU version.

  • CanBus was 8, set to NO, apply, reboot, set back to 08, apply, reboot and it doesn't work.

    Is below picture  fine?

  • @Mcgyver83 If possible to share the order details to us?Included the order ID.

1.Please download the file though the link via your computer/laptop.

(Do not rename and Unzip the file)

2.Format the USB drive before copying the Update.zip  file to it, then insert it to the USB cable, and it will pop out the firmware updating tips on the screen.

(Tick the option"Wipe data and format flash")

  • @Support Dasaita, which one should I download?
I see 2 link in your message.

I really appreciate the support you provide but it's a little bit annoying to reset the head unit each time.
I know that it's a complex software but take time to re-install and re-configure all apps. 😅

  • @Mcgyver83 Sorry for the confusion.

    This one.

  • @Support Dasaita No luck.
    It still not working.
Same issue described in messages that started this thread.
In the dedicate setting page, if I press "Mode", phone up, phone down, mic I see the highlighted command on the screen but nothing happens when pressin vol +/- or seek next / prev.

I tried to attach screenshot but the forum says something about "approval"

  • I jut got that there is a dedicate SWC section in the forum:
Forum > Aftersales Support > Technical Supports > SWC (Steering Wheel Control) associated issue

Should I open a new thread into this section instead of continuing here?

  • @Mcgyver83

Step 1. Please go Settings > Car > Factory settings (password:126) > Others > Steering wheel keys assign > Can Key > Apply > Exit (Restart).

Step 2. Please go Settings > Car > Steering Wheel Keys > start to program OR just open the App "Wheelkey Study" to program. We also attached a video showing how to reprogram the SWC keys for your reference, please check it out.

Here is the studying video of steering wheel control:https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/q7ue7qnm6uhq25sgz39gt/Video-Steering-wheel-keys-assign-Can-Key.mp4?rlkey=8xptcydovh8fypb7m17rl474m&st=f1sq5s0p&dl=0

  • @Support Dasaita I already did what you requested.

When I'm in the SWC study nothing happens when I press vol +/- or seek next / prev.

Instead pressing mic, phone up, phone down  makes highlighted (yellow square) the related icon on the screen.

Also "Mode" that is in the middle of the rudder is working fine.

    I have a Toyota C-HR 2018, Italian.

The issue started when I update with a firmware provided via mail by the support to fix Android Auto/car play issue.

  • @Mcgyver83

Dear Mcgyver83,i mean did you switch to Can Key?Not SWC.

  • @Support Dasaita yes, if you check pictures above, there is a screenshot where I show "CAN key" as selected value.

Despite this, swc up/down/left/right buttons from left wheel rudder don't work.

Mode, phone up/down and mic yes.
