Metro by T-Mobile SIM card stopped working

  • I have a g13 in my Honda accord 2016. Unit works great until recently my metro by T-Mobile sim just stopped working today. I have the cell bar icon with the exclamation mark. Network settings show no internet, no phone no text, but does register it's a t mobile SIM card. Tried everything, network reset, factory reset, setting apn, called metro and had them to a reset on their end. Metro says my account is fine and my imei is register and active. Anyone have any idea what the heck is going on? What changed?? Everything was working fine for 3 weeks.

  • 2017 Honda Accord the same exact problem i just had yesterday 6/12/26. worked 4 weeks and mirror issue and tried to resolve the problems with all sugestions and nothing. T-Mobile SIM CARD

  • I have the same problem that started yesterday. I have. Tello sim which uses T-Mobile towers

  • I was about to make a new thread here before I saw this post. I installed a T-Mobile sim card in my Dasaita about 2 months ago, and I was always able to reliably connect to the Internet until a few days ago when I got my vehicle back from a body shop.

I took my truck to a body shop to upgrade the sound system, and I noticed the day after getting my vehicle back that I was unable to connect to the Internet until I rebooted my Dasaita through the factory settings. For the rest of that day I had no issues with my LTE connectivity.

The following day when I started my car I noticed there was an exclamation mark on my LTE bars notification at the top and I was again unable to connect to the Internet. Except this time rebooting the device didn't fix it, neither did relocating my vehicle to another area. It just simply wouldn't connect anymore.

The day after that, after starting my vehicle in the morning, my Dasaita was now completely unable to detect my SIM card, and the "SIMs" section under Network & Internet was grayed out. After popping out the Dasaita, pulling out the SIM card reader and pushing it back in, and then restarting the device, it was able to detect the SIM card again, but still no connectivity.

The following day when I started my vehicle it was again unable to detect my SIM card. I have not had any LTE connection ever since that first day after receiving my vehicle from the auto shop, despite T-Mobile confirming that my SIM card was still active.

At first I thought maybe because the body shop had re-ran the cables for my 4G antenna and GPS antenna through the interior dashboard that maybe the antenna cables had become damaged or snagged, but after gently pulling on both ends of the antenna cable with the Dasaita popped out, it moved very easily and freely.

  • Hi.. I have the same problem. The unit was working fine until 3 days ago. No internet, an exclamation mark and no connection through T Mobile.

  • Hi! I am also having the same exact issue. Metro/T-Mobile SIM as well. Was working fine until about 3 days ago.

Could this be an issue on T-Mobile end?

  • I've got a ticket open with t mobile tech support to get some more info on what's happened but I have also tried factory reset  and same result. I think maybe it's because they did an audit and kicked my device off their network. I definitely think at this point it's a t mobile doing. Also

i think this after reading yalls posts. I'm waiting for feedback. However I've also purchased a new sim that will arrive in a couple days from eiotclub on Amazon. They have data only cards made specially for data devices such as cameras and wireless routers. It probably doesn't help that the sim isn't in a phone and t mobile might have flagged it as a non supported device per change in their recent policy change is what I'm thinking.

  • I was using Tello as well and it stopped working.  Tello support said that T-Mobile has changed what bands they're using in my area and that my device is no longer compatible... I've been trying to find a list of bands supported by my G13 to validate this and find a different MVNO/carrier...

  • @rotorhead06 I figured it's something like that. Probably similar situation for a lot of us here. Interesting to see multiple people here just getting kicked off. I guess t mobile is no longer a good option for service anymore.

  • Success!! The eiotclub card sim worked. It's running on the AT&T network.

  • Also I still have not received any feedback from metro

  • Same issue here with my T-Mobile SIM.  They say the IMEI is not compatible on their network. It appears to me they blacklisted the device.  When I searched the IMEI number,  it belongs to a phone Realme Narzo 50i, released in October 2021 .

  • I'm having he same issues, about 5 days ago access to the internet via SIM-T-Mobile stopped working, I have been working with T-Mobile for 3 days and we cannot figure out why its not working.  Sometimes I can get 1 bar but not able to do anything like calls, maps, or streaming music.  They validated my IMEI number associated with the SIM card tried moving my plan to data only, then back to a regular user unlimited data, calls ect, and still nothing.  I emailed support and have not heard back.

  • Spoke to support about this issue yesterday. They said it's a known issue that the wireless companies changed their settings. They were support to send me the updated settings but I havent gotten anything uet

    • I've cancelled my service with metro and asked for a charge back on my money through my credit card company. I think it's kind of horrible they changed their policies after telling me my device was compatible, kicked my device off the network, refused to give me a refund and never followed up on my tech ticket to tell me exactly what happened. I jumped through all the hoops. I'm done.

  • Spoke with T-Mobile (tech) and Dasaita tech yesterday, what Dasaita said was the reason for the SIM card connection was all three carriers made settings shift for accessing the network via SIM.  Dasaita send me a email telling me what needs to be done in order to gain access.  I followed the instructions 3 times and still unable to connect.  Under SIM,  turn off Auto network selection, then select manual and select T-Mobile.  It still does not connect. Called Dasaita tech back and let them know it doesn't work. tech is elevating to the technical team for a solution.
