I have the same exact problem. Of note, I tried it with my wife's iphone and it does not do it. Seems to be isolated to android auto.

When the unit wakes up it won't connect to my zfold4 via Bluetooth. Manual attempts fail. Rebooting the HU is the only way to fix it.  Video of issue
