IMEI compatability

  • Bought a tmobile Sim off Amazon. Tmobile and other carriers all say the IMEI is not compatible for GSM service. Is the device locked for US service?

  • @Jonathan Barnes

Sure not, our biggest market is US. When you plug in the SIM card, you must restart the Dasaita unit: settings > car settings > factory settings and put "hctreboot" as password.

  • I have the same problem with my Verizon SIM card. I called customer service and the said the IMEI number is not supported and is for a china phone. I don't know what SIM card to use with this device.

  • @Support Dasaita Same issue here with my T-Mobile SIM.  They say the IMEI is not compatible on their network. It appears to me they blacklisted the device.  When I searched the IMEI number,  it belongs to a China phone Realme Narzo 50i, released in October 2021 . They said that device is not supported by them according to T-Mobile tech support.

  • At this point I'm seriously considering returning this stereo and getting something more reliable. I've tried 3 different SIM cards with none working yet.

  • @neil

    Hi,

We've found that many users with T-Mobile SIM cards are facing the same network issue on our units — the SIM is recognized but no internet access.

Could you please record a short video showing how you set up the APN? Also, please try inserting this SIM card into a regular mobile phone and check if it connects to the network normally. This will help us narrow down the problem quickly.

Follow step to add the APN :

We are still investigating the compatibility issue with T-Mobile service. We'll keep you updated once we have progress.

  • @Support Dasaita yes the same SIM card works in my other phones aswell . T-Mobile says the IMEI is not compatible on their networks. No matter how much troubleshooting I've done , all Support reps say the same thing . IMEI is no good on their networks.
